Nigerian dance sensation Charles Ekwem, known by his stage name Rage, has secured his place on the world stage by advancing to the global finals of Red Bull’s ‘Dance Your Style’ competition. The finals will be held in Mumbai, India, where he will showcase his unique style alongside over 30 finalists from around the globe.

The newly crowned national champion emerged from a pool of 15 finalists drawn from Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, including defending champion BJ Miah. Rage delivered a calculated yet dynamic performance that dazzled the audience with a seamless blend of fluid rhythm, unmatched creativity, and bold charisma from the moment he made his grand entrance.

While the competition rules remained largely unchanged from previous editions—excluding breakdancing—competitors were divided into red and blue teams and faced off in two one-minute rounds, with the audience deciding the winners.Rage’s path to victory was far from straightforward. Each battle saw him elevate his game with increasingly daring moves. The semi-finals proved particularly tense when he narrowly edged out crowd favourite P-Brain. Rage then cemented his triumph by defeating Glitch in the finals, a three-round showdown. The global finals of Red Bull ‘Dance Your Style’ are scheduled for November 9, 2024.
