ALPHA P HOWLS WITH VIGOUR IN NEW EP: WELCOMETOTHEPACK”RELEASE DATE: 06/08/2024

“He wants to move unencumbered through genres to find new and puzzling ways to adlib a word, to straddle a beat, or be at total unity with specific flows. He would use afrobeats, fuji, dancehall, trap, or sing a whimsical incoherent bop if it pulls at the core of your heart. That is the curious challenge he has set himself: to always find the music to move you, however that happens. And this promises to be fun to watch.” – CULTURE CUSTODIAN

In a world where every beat echoes with intent, Alpha P has carved out a niche that defies the ordinary. He is set to cement his place as a trailblazer in the Afrobeats scene with the release of his latest EP, Welcome to the Pack., an intimate journey through the highs and lows of love, ambition, and self-discovery.

The EP opens with “Light,” a slow-tempoed introspective cut that strikes at the heart of romance and heartbreak. Alpha P takes listeners on an emotional ride, painting vivid pictures of love lost and memories that linger long after the final note. It’s a track that haunts and heals in equal measure, showcasing Alpha P’s ability to weave raw emotion into every lyric.

From the introspective to the uplifting, “OMW” follows, featuring the fresh and vibrant Kemuel. This collaboration is an attestation to Alpha P’s ability to bring out the best in his peers, as the two artists seamlessly blend their styles to create a track that is as infectious as it is inspiring.
“HOLD YA” shifts gears, pulling listeners into the pulsating world of Amapiano. With its infectious groove and hypnotic rhythm, this track is an invitation to the dance floor, a celebration of life’s most euphoric moments.

Closing out the EP is “4AM,” a reflective track that captures the quiet intensity of the early morning hours. Alpha P’s voice is both soothing and contemplative, guiding listeners through the maze of late-night thoughts and feelings. It’s a fitting end to an EP that takes us through the full spectrum of human emotion, leaving us in awe of Alpha P’s artistic range.

Alpha P, born Princewill Emmanuel, is a striking blend of raw talent and matured artistry that belies his youth.
At just 17, Alpha P had already begun carving out a unique space in the Nigerian music landscape, driven by a relentless passion that took root in the streets of Benin City, Edo State.

The fourth child in a family of seven, Alpha P’s musical journey began not in a choir or a family steeped in musical tradition, but in the vibrant atmosphere of a Christ Embassy church, where he started crafting gospel bars as a youngster. His journey from Benin to Lagos is a testament to his unyielding drive, and it’s this drive that led him to be one of the latest prodigies signed by Penthauze, the Afrobeats powerhouse led by the iconic Phyno.

Alpha P’s music is a dynamic fusion of influences ranging from the hard-hitting bars of J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar to the melodic flows of Drake and PartyNextDoor, with a nod to Nigerian legends like M.I. Despite his international influences, Alpha P’s sound is deeply rooted in the rhythms and cadences of Afrobeats, yet it remains strikingly innovative, pushing the boundaries of the genre.

His debut EP, “King of the Wolves,” released in November of 2019, is a reflection of his eclectic tastes and artistic maturity, showcasing his ability to weave together diverse sonic elements into a cohesive, compelling narrative.

In 2020, Alpha P followed up with his second project, Wolves & Mustang Vol. 1. He has since collaborated on several tracks, including DJ Tunez’s hit “Majo,” which also features Afrobeats Super heavyweight Wizkid and Nigerian RnB Sensation Tay Iwar.

As Alpha P releases his third body of work, ‘Welcome to the Pack’, the highly anticipated project is expected to solidify his position as one of Afrobeats’ most exciting talents. He continues to evolve, and his affiliation with Phyno and Penthauze Music, is poised to propel his career to new heights.
