NerdzFactory Partners with World Bank and Federal Ministry to Launch Transformative TechBridge Programme for Nigerian Youth

NerdzFactory Company, has announced a pivotal collaboration with the World Bank, the Federal Ministry of Education, and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

Together, they aim to tackle one of Nigeria’s most pressing challenges: the need for a robust technical and vocational education system that aligns with the demands of today’s labour market.
The partnership, through the Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) Project, seeks to revolutionize skills acquisition across the nation.

NerdzFactory’s primary contribution to this national effort is the TechBridge Program, a bold initiative designed to provide Nigerian youth with the digital skills required to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven economy.
The programme will be launched in Lagos and Rivers States—two economic powerhouses in the country and would target young people eager to break into the digital industry.

TechBridge offers an array of training in essential areas such as Graphic and Product Design, Digital Marketing, Product Management, and Front-end Web Development.

Yet, its scope goes far beyond mere technical proficiency. Participants will also receive education in key workplace skills, life skills, and entrepreneurship.

The programme is designed not only to prepare them for a career in tech but also to ensure they are well-equipped to navigate the broader challenges of the modern workplace.

Speaking on this new venture, NerdzFactory’s Founding Partner, Ademulegun Olowojoba, expressed the significance of the collaboration.
“We are thrilled to be part of the IDEAS Project alongside the World Bank, the Federal Ministry of Education, and NBTE. The initiative reflects our commitment to empowering individuals and communities through targeted skill development and creating economic opportunities. By equipping youth with high-demand digital skills, we are preparing them to succeed in the fast-paced workforce and fostering a new generation of innovators ready to drive Nigeria’s tech ecosystem forward,” Olowojoba.

The TechBridge Programme will run from September to December 2024 and is designed to be accessible to a broad audience, with the attractive feature of a 100 percent tuition scholarship.
Participants will not only receive free training but also have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications, setting them apart in an increasingly competitive job market.

Additionally, the programme offers internships and job placement opportunities with top companies in the tech industry, along with mentorship from seasoned professionals. Aspiring entrepreneurs will also benefit from business support, giving them the tools to start their own ventures.

NerdzFactory’s involvement in this initiative highlights its broader mission to enhance human capital outcomes in Nigeria, contributing significantly to the country’s digital transformation.
