Afro-Pop Singer Kross Shares His Journey, New Projects, Future

Emerging Afro-pop singer, songwriter, and performer Kossy Ngwube, popularly known as Kross, is making waves in the music industry.

Born on 29 April 1997 in Nnewi, Anambra State, Kross has come a long way from his humble beginnings to carve out a name for himself in the competitive world of music.

In a recent interview, Kross opened up about his early life and the challenges he faced while pursuing his passion for music. “I was born and raised in the Nnewi community, where I shared a single room with my parents and five siblings.

“Growing up in such modest circumstances instilled in me a drive and determination to create a better future for myself, and that’s what led me to music.”

Despite his family’s financial struggles, Kross found a way to follow his dreams, even if it meant sneaking out of school to spend time in the studio. “I often used the money my parents gave me for school fees to pay for music recordings,” he admitted.

“This led to late payments, but I give thanks to God because He’s always there for me. I believe He won’t give me more than I can handle.”

Now, Kross is focused on his latest project, his debut EP titled “Sun & Roses.” He describes the project as a significant step in his musical journey, one that reflects his growth and aspirations.

“I’m working hard on ‘Sun & Roses,’ and I believe it will showcase my unique style and the message I want to share with the world,” he said.

Looking ahead, Kross sees himself becoming a leader in the music industry. “I’m here to make my mark and create opportunities for those who come after me,” he stated. “The industry is big, and I’m here to do me.”

When asked about his role models, Kross expressed admiration for the legends who paved the way in the industry. “Shoutout to all the legends who came before me,” he said. “I appreciate their eccentric ways and their impact, but I’m here to do me, make more ways, and give the love back.”

Kross also shared his admiration for Chief Osita Osadebe and Burna Boy, calling them his favorite artists. “One of my favorite songs is ‘Want It All’ by Burna Boy, and I also love Osadebe’s ‘Chukuma.’ Their styles and messages resonate with me, and I hope to work with them someday,” he revealed.

As for what keeps him going when times get tough, Kross explained that his ambition and drive are what push him forward. “I thrive on challenges and constantly set goals for myself,” he said. “I’ve learned that long-term thinking.
