Mezzaya Foundation Launches Free Medical Outreach Program
The Mezzaya Foundation is set to host a free medical outreach from October 1st to October 4th, 2024, with the aim of providing critical healthcare services to underserved communities in Benin City, Edo State. The program, led by renowned Nigerian recording artist Abraham Destiny, popularly known as “Mezzaya”, will kick off at the Oba Akenzua Cultural Centre before moving to different locations across the city each day.
The outreach will focus on offering specialized ophthalmology services, including eye surgeries, prescription glasses, and general eye treatments. “Our medical team will be on hand to provide essential care, especially to the elderly, single mothers, and widows who need these services the most,” Mezzaya said.
In partnership with his record label, Black Dreams Empire, Mezzaya is fulfilling a long-held ambition to give back to the community. “I’ve always wanted to do more, but financial limitations were a barrier. Now, with this partnership, I can finally make a meaningful impact,” he said.
Mezzaya expressed deep concern over the current economic hardships in Nigeria, which have heightened the need for private sector involvement in community welfare. “Given the economic challenges, this outreach is a way to provide vital support to those who might not otherwise have access to healthcare. Our goal is to reach 5,000 people in need across Benin City,” he added.
In addition to medical services, the foundation will distribute food items and cash gifts to the less privileged. Beneficiaries will receive essential commodities like rice, beans, garri, onions, noodles, palm oil, and salt. “This initiative is not just a one-off event; it’s something I plan to continue annually, every 1st to 4th of October, in celebration of Nigeria’s Independence Day,” Mezzaya revealed.
Through this outreach, the Mezzaya Foundation aims to create lasting change, offering both immediate relief and long-term hope to vulnerable members of the community.
