Celebrity Auto Dealer, Ogiozee Cleared of Romance Scam Palaver in US

After years of battle to clear her name, justice has finally come for Adesuwa Renee Ogiozee, popularly known as the Auto Queen, as prosecutors have dismissed federal charges leveled against her in a New Mexico court, USA, for alleged online romance scam.

Arguably one of the biggest Nigerian female auto dealers in the US, her Renee Motors and Logistics LLC, is the go-to auto brand for celebrities and people of means across the world. She, however, made headlines when the news of her alleged involvement in a romance scam hit the social media space.

Recall that the US federal agents had on September 16, 2021, arrested Ms Ogiozee, alongside Kayode Adeniyi, Gbemileke Bello, Abel Adeyi Daramola, and a 37-year-old Nigerian based in Atlanta, Olutayo Sunday Ogunlaja, for charges bordering on conspiracy to commit wire fraud after bilking $560,000 from a female victim resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Adesuwa was alleged to have conspired with a customer who was involved in a romance scam with his lover. Though she kept to the claim that her interaction with the customer was strictly about a car purchase.

After her arrest and her first appearance in the Eastern District of Missouri on September 17, 2021, Adesuwa was released on a $25,000 bond and placed on home detention, with the privilege of spending three hours per weekday outside of her residence in Missouri. She has had to be moving around with a monitoring device stuck to her leg.

However, following further investigations, the actual culprit in the case has now been apprehended and prosecutors established that the wrongful charges against Adesuwa be dismissed.

She shares the good news on social media today and her friends and fans have been sending congratulations her way.
