Niger Wants FG to Expedite Action in Providing Humanitarian Services

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has pleaded with the federal government to expedite action in providing humanitarian services to people affected by the flood that ravaged Maiduguri and its environs in Borno State early this week.


Bago said the timely release of assistance to the victims would go a long way to ameliorate their sufferings.


In a solidarity message to Zulum, and the people of Borno, Bago described the disaster which rendered hundreds of people homeless as “unfortunate and pathetic.”
In the message signed on his behalf by the Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor described the incident “As a trying moment for the government and people of Borno State.”
