CIG Motors is set to revolutionize future of mobility in Nigeria with a bold initiative to recruit 1,000 first-class graduates from Nigerian universities annually.
The foremost automobile company, which is expanding its footprint across the nation has just recently employed over a hundred young first class graduates from top Nigerian Universities through its CIG Knight programme.
The programme is part of a broader arrangement to engage no fewer than 1000 Nigerian graduates in automotive technology and bridge the unemployment gap in the country.
The induction ceremony reflects the company’s strategic trajectory from CIG Motors to Mobility understanding the role played by youths in the automotive industry.
The maiden induction ceremony held at the luxurious G-Style showroom, echoed applause with panel sessions, talent recognition and certificate presentations.
The CIG Knight programme is designed to identify and groom bright minds from recognized institutions offering a rare opportunity for skillful individuals to join the team, bringing fresh perspectives and creative ideas as they welcome the new era of mobility in the climes of Africa.
Jubril Arogundade, Executive Director, CIG Motors, the keynote speaker at the event revealed that the ceremony sets as an annual celebration of determination and excellence.
The automotive industry especially here in Nigeria, is on the brink of revolution and CIG Motors is proud to be the leading change. “With the disruption of technology with EVs there is an infrastructural gap that needs innovators and creative thinkers who can contribute to moving the company forward”
He added.The CIG Knight programme is a laser focused opportunity that welcomes only first-class graduates and students with a 2:1 from top ten universities in Nigeria. With a strategic recruitment process, which include aptitude tests, phases of interview and presentations to determine skills, intellect, and commitment to making a meaningful impact in the industry.With over one thousand eight hundred applicants, over a hundred candidates qualified as CIG Knights sharing the organization values of excellence, character, and dedication.
Speaking during the panel session, Bisola Aiyeola, Award winning Actor, encouraged the newly inductees to be open to learning as the automobile industry is a growing goldmine. “To grow, we must embrace lifelong learning, self-awareness, and resilience. We must be open to new experiences, challenges, and feedback. Growth is not about status, but about progress” She added.On her part, Mabel Adeteye, Head of Brands and Marketing Communications, WEMA Bank, a panelist commenting on the topic “Leadership and Growth; Building a Successful Career” admonished the graduands to recognize their inherent value as individuals capable of achieving the impossible in their endeavors with an aura of resilience as they forge on in their career. In the same vein, Ifesinachi Okpagu, Chief Marketing Officer, Heirs Insurance encouraged the new graduands to embody proactiveness with a forward-thinking mindset as problem solvers. “Identifying problems before they happen and presenting solutions will help position you in your team while your impact is felt even in your absence.” She added.The inductees join the staff of CIG Motors, to work closely with experienced mentors and colleagues, driving innovation and excellence across various departments such as Sales, Marketing, Human Resources/Interests, Finance and Operations to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.
