Ex-First Lady, Patience Jonathan, CDS, Mourn Akwa Ibom First Lady, Patience Eno

Former first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen Christopher Musa, have expressed sadness over the demise of Akwa Ibom State first lady, Pastor Patience Umo Eno.
A statement by Mrs Jonathan’s Chief Press Secretary, Godwin Mbachu Commiserated with the family, governor, government and people of Akwa Ibom state.


She described the late Mrs. Eno as a devoted Minister of God and woman of virtue, who was committed to the service of God and humanity, and that through her pet project, “the Golden Initiative For All”,  impacted on countless lives.
According to her, “I am saddened by the news of sudden death of the wife of the Akwa Ibom state governor, Mrs, Patience Umo Eno. She will surely be missed by all. I pray that the Almighty God grants her soul eternal rest and the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.”


On his part, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen Christopher Musa, on behalf of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, condoled with Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Bassey Eno, and the entire Akwa Ibom people over the sudden passing away of his wife.
A statement by Acting Director Defence Information, Brig Gen Tukur Gusau, stated that the news of the sad event came to the military like a shock wave.


“Surely, a big vacuum has been created in your family and the state considering the indispensable and invaluable roles she had played, most especially since the assumption of your administration. Patience Umo Eno, was not just a wife but a trusted and dependable ally to you,” he said.
The CDS said she would be fondly remembered for her efforts in enhancing the lives of the people of Akwa Ibom State particularly children, youths and vulnerable persons through her pet project, ‘Golden Initiative for All (GIFA).  


Noting that painful as her sudden and unexpected death might be, Musa urged the governor to take solace in the lucid fact that as mortal beings, who must one day leave this other side of the sun, we have hope beyond here.
