Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa and Chioma Fakorede and Host FLOW Wellness Picnic, Uplifting Women Through Wellness and Empowerment

The Flow Wellness Picnic, held on September 27, 2024, at The Nest Pre-School, Jericho, Ibadan, was a remarkable gathering organised by FLOW (For the Love of Women). The co-founders, Chioma Fakorede and Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa, led over 60 women in a day filled with wellness, education, and empowerment.

The picnic opened with an invigorating meditation session that set the tone for the day, followed by an active Zumba class by Bam-T dance studio that encouraged physical wellness and movement. One of the most impactful moments came during the health workshop led by Dr. Akinlolu, who delivered a compelling talk on women’s reproductive health, focusing on fibroids and hormonal imbalances.

Participants also enjoyed games and activities that encouraged fun, engagement, and connection among the women. To top it off, Chef Hook Catering provided healthy meals, enjoyed during a casual conversation segment that allowed attendees to network and share their experiences.

The event ended on a high note with gift-giving, where lucky winners walked away with prizes provided by generous sponsors.

Sponsors for the event included Redcross, Seven-Up Bottling Company, Emerald Digital Agency, MTN, BlackNILE, The Nest Pre-School, Casa De Noir, Kokari Coconuts, So Fresh, Natures Treats*, *Coree*, *BigKiks Visuals*, and *Hello Ibadan*. Their contributions ensured the success and impact of the event, making it a memorable day for all who attended.

In her closing remarks, Chioma Fakorede shared, “This event wasn’t just about physical health—it was a day for emotional and mental well-being, too. At FLOW, we believe that women flourish when a strong community supports them, and we’re proud to create that space.”

Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa echoed these sentiments, stating, “The Flow Wellness Picnic is one of many steps we are taking to empower women. Creating intimate, supportive environments allows women to grow and thrive in all aspects of their lives.”

With FLOW’s commitment to fostering a community of empowered women, attendees left the picnic inspired and ready for more opportunities to connect and grow in future events.
