GMIA Chairman: Nigeria and China’s Independence Days Reflect A Shared Destiny

As Nigeria and China celebrate their respective Independence Days on October 1st, the Chairman of the Goods Made-in-China Importers Association (GMIA), emphasised the significance of this shared date.

He suggested that it reflects a shared destiny for both nations to collaborate in uplifting their communities.

China’s National Day marks its independence in 1949, while Nigeria celebrates its independence from British rule in 1960.

Udeogaranya, as noted in a press statement, highlighted the potential for strengthened relations and mutual development between the two countries.

Udeogaranya noted that Nigeria could learn from China’s transformative approach, which prioritises the needs of its citizens.

The GMIA chairman urged China to view Nigeria as a brotherly partner in economic development, calling on both nations’ governments and peoples to unite as allies, working collaboratively for the common good and mutual prosperity.

This partnership, he said, “Can enhance economic ties and foster shared growth, benefiting both countries in their development journeys”.
