Midas Radio Gets Tourism Recognition in Ekiti

A leading broadcasting station in Ekiti, Midas Radio 90.5 FM has clinched the EkitiTourism Outstanding Supporters iconic Award for its outstanding contribution towards the development of tourism in Ekiti State.

Midas Radio is domiciled in Ekiti State and the first 24-hour radio station in Ekiti State.

The award, conferred on Midas Radio by the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, comes as a recognition of its support for tourism during the commemoration of World Tourism Day 2024 held at Oroke Ewo tourism site, Ilupeju-Ekiti, in EkitiState.

Presenting the award, the Director General, Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Barr. Wale Ojo-Lanre described Midas Radio as well-deserved, given its exceptional contribution to promoting the state’s tourism potential and the progress recorded in the tourism sector over the years.

Ojo-Lanre noted that the broadcast station had done tremendously well in projecting Ekiti’s rich cultural and diverse heritage to the world by giving voices to the potential of notable historical sites and events such as the Ikogosi Warm Springs and the Udiroko Festival.

He expressed gratitude to the company for its unwavering commitment to amplifying Ekiti State as a tourism destination of choice through its platform.

According to him, the broadcast station’s relentless effort has continued to make Ekiti State an attractive destination for both local and international tourists.

Shortly after receiving the award, Managing Director, Midas Radio, Mr. Kayode Olusemire thanked the agency for recognizing its role and contribution towards the advancement of tourism in Ekiti State.

Olusemire described the award as a huge motivation that would continue to drive the company to support the government in propagating excellence in the different sectors of the economy.

According to him, the award is a testament to the hard work, innovation, and resilience that Midas Radio represents. As we celebrate this recognition, we are more determined to continue to blaze the trail, highlighting key areas of opportunities that any visitor or investor can take advantage of. 

“We are quite excited about this new recognition by the EkitiState Bureau of Tourism Development.
