Fee or Free?
Send her to jail, she’ll get free TV, food and accommodation! Sometimes the law is an ass.
A disabled mum in Britain couldn’t afford the £169.50 fee for her TV viewing licence, probably just a meal out for those making and enforcing these laws. The fine of £750 would be impossible for her and if she did have those savings, it would be better used helping her children and their education.
The statue of Lady Justice is shown as blindfolded because justice is unbiased and should be, but surely this is one time when she should just peek and see that this mum is not a major criminal and some leeway should be allowed.
