This research examines the effects of government regulation policy on housing, a case study of Egbeada federal housing estate Owerri Imo state.
The objective of this study is to ensure that regulations are in the public interest. It addressed the permanent need to ensure that regulations and regulatory frameworks are justified of good quality and, fit for some purposes.
The sample size of the area was observed and primary data was obtained through administration of questionnaires and personal interviews, professional books and journals were adopted as secondary source.
Tables are used to present some necessary information about housing in the study area. The findings show that government regulations and control of housing policy in developing economy have not really done much in the areas of sound development. The resaercher recommended that, Government should deregulate some housing policy in the economy since Nigeria is growing to enable many industries to invest in the Nigeria economy.
This will help to achieve a sustainable development for the nation at large. In conclusion, the impact of government regulation and control on housing policy in the developing economy is not encouraging in the area of sound development.
