Land is a unique gift of nature to mankind. It is so much importance to man. Land is a prime factor of production, platform for sustaining all human activities and source of all materials wealth.

Land does not just create space for economic activities; it is central to rational planning of human settlement, critical and fundamental to the economic development of a nation. Its role as a definer of all material wealth, economic property and standard of living cannot be overstated or overrated. Everything on earth, every technology and invention takes off from land, making the land an integral factor for the adequate sustenance of life.

Land use Decree (Act) was promulgated March 29^th 1978 by then Federal Military Government.
