Michael Adewoye, a renowned data analyst, has been honoured with the prestigious African Icon of Our Generation Award by the International Centre for Comparative Leadership for Africans and Blacks in Diaspora and Accolade Communications Limited.

The award ceremony, which took place at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industries (LCCI), Ikeja Lagos, celebrated Adewoye’s outstanding contributions to the data analytics sector in Africa and beyond.

Adewoye, who has built a stellar career as a result-driven data analyst, has made significant impacts through his expertise in data manipulation, analysis, and visualization. His proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Advanced Excel, SQL, and T-SQL has set him apart as a leader in the field.

His work at McGeorge Consulting and Merit Group Services has had a transformative effect on how businesses utilize data for decision-making.
At McGeorge Consulting, Adewoye led several data analytics projects that greatly improved reporting accuracy. He also took on a mentorship role, training over 25 team members in Power BI, helping to elevate the company’s data analysis capabilities. His tenure at Merit Group Services was equally impressive, where he developed real-time dashboards, optimized data models, and crafted SQL scripts for data cleansing and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.

These efforts resulted in a 40% boost in reporting capabilities, showcasing Adewoye’s ability to leverage data to drive operational improvements.
One of his key accomplishments includes reducing stockouts by 20%, a crucial achievement for businesses managing inventory. In addition, he played a pivotal role in unifying HR and operational data during a strategic integration project, which further cemented his reputation for enhancing data quality and implementing governance practices.
