Nigeria’s Aviation Industry Fertile for Investors, says Expert

The Chief Executive Officer of Braniz and Lloyds Aviation, Brienze Lawrence has said that Nigeria’s aviation industry holds a lot growth potentials which is why it remains attractive to foreign investors.

Lawrence, who said this in a chat with journalists, noted that the reforms being pursued by the President Bola Tinubu-led administration has positioned the industry for further expansion.

According to her, “We have over the years advocated for opening up of the aviation industry so that Nigeria can be properly positioned to fill the gaps in the industry. Africa still has a huge shortage of professionals in the aviation industry and the better Nigeria starts working along the path of being the destination for aviation capacity development, the faster we will become a powerhouse to dictate further trends in the industry.”

She added that efforts have been made by government to address skills gap but more needs to be done so as to bring the training and capacity building programmes in Nigeria up to par with international standards.

“At Braniz and Lloyds Aviation Training Limited, we have conducted thorough assessment of the gaps in the industry and are working with partners to develop homegrown solution.

“For instance, we have a partnership with the Cross River State Government to run a dual-location training programme with our partners in Ireland and other parts of Europe.
“We believe programmes like these are essential to building the local talent needed to boast capacity in the aviation industry.”

She added that the company already had partnerships with Igbinedion University, Okada and the University of Nigeria, Ndukwe to run similar training programmes which are focused to training 5000 aviation professionals in Africa in 5 years.
