Swahili Village Newark Unveils ‘Pamoja’ Event Series, Celebrating African Culture, Community

Newark’s Swahili Village is set to launch its much-anticipated monthly event series, “Pamoja,” starting in the fall of 2024. The series will offer fans a rare opportunity to meet their favorite stars from the music, movie, and fashion industries. The event which is set to take place in 2 Center St, Newark, NJ is designed to go beyond the typical meet-and-greet format, allowing for a deeper connection through a podcast-style Q&A session.

“Pamoja,” which translates to “together in Swahili, aims to foster a closer connection in an intimate and relaxed setting with great food and drinks. Each ticket includes dinner, a personal photo, and the opportunity to engage in an intimate conversation where the guest celebrities will share insights and answer questions from the audience.

The first edition of Pamoja will be creatively produced and curated by Prime Music Partners, the team behind Loud In Africa, a show currently streaming on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video, and Yellow Kudu, the team behind Netflix’s Never Late African Time Podcast. “I’m beyond excited to be a part of Pamoja!” said Jobie Bakama, Producer at Yellow Kudu. “This series brings people together through music, conversation, and incredible food.
