Piccolobeatz reflects on moving from Music to Business, the Vision Behind AUTHENTRUST
In the bustling heart of Lagos, Paul Oyijewu Onwu, better known as Piccolobeatz, stands out as a leading figure seamlessly blending creative innovation with corporate leadership. A celebrated music producer and the CEO of AUTHENTRUST LTD, Piccolobeatz has made a name for himself at the intersection of Nigeria’s creative industries and the growing tech ecosystem. His journey from a small town in Benue State to the helm of a thriving business in Lagos is a story of ambition, resilience, and excellence.
Born on September 12, 1995, in Ubegba, Okpokwu Local Government Area, Benue State, Onwu’s humble beginnings instilled in him the values of hard work and community. His move to Lagos in 2015 marked the beginning of his career as a music producer under the name Piccolobeatz, officially launching his music career on September 12 of the same year. As his passion for music flourished, he quickly gained recognition through collaborations with various artists, both locally and internationally.
However, as his success in the music industry grew, Piccolobeatz realized the need for a financial buffer to support his creative pursuits. This revelation led to the founding of the brand on October 5, 2024. The company offers a range of digital services, including social media account verification, monetization, Wikipedia editing, newspaper publications, mobile app and website development, and graphic design.
“My journey in the music industry taught me the importance of branding and digital presence,” Onwu explained. “My brand was born out of a desire to provide creatives and businesses with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world. It’s about creating opportunities for people to expand their reach and monetize their platforms, just as I did in my music career.”
Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial epicenter, provided the perfect environment for AUTHENTRUST LTD to grow. Onwu noted that the city’s energy and creativity make it an ideal hub for innovation and collaboration. Since its inception, the company has quickly established itself as a leader in offering digital solutions to a diverse range of clients.
“Lagos is the heartbeat of innovation in Nigeria,” Onwu said. “It’s the perfect place to grow a business like that. There’s so much energy and creativity here, and we’re able to tap into that to provide digital solutions that are both cutting-edge and practical.”
Transitioning from music production to corporate leadership came with its own set of challenges, but Onwu adapted quickly. He described running a company as similar to producing music, both requiring vision, collaboration, and attention to detail. “At AUTHENTRUST LTD, we approach every project with the same level of care and creativity that goes into producing a hit song,” he remarked.
Like many Nigerian entrepreneurs, Piccolobeatz has had to navigate the infrastructural challenges that often hinder business operations, from power supply issues to unreliable internet connectivity. However, Onwu and his team have taken proactive measures to ensure the company remains operational in the face of these obstacles. “The key to running a successful business in Nigeria is adaptability,” Onwu emphasized. “We’ve made sure that we have backup systems in place to handle power outages and maintain reliable internet connectivity.”
Beyond infrastructure, the brand has earned a reputation for excellence through its focus on precision, reliability, and swift service delivery. Onwu’s insistence on these qualities has helped the company stand out in Nigeria’s competitive digital services industry.
Looking to the future, Piccolobeatz envisions a global reach for AUTHENTRUST LTD. “We’re just getting started,” he said confidently. “AUTHENTRUST LTD has the potential to become a global brand, and we’re working towards that. We want to be the go-to company for digital services, whether it’s helping someone get verified on social media or developing a custom mobile app for a large corporation.”
Despite his corporate success, Onwu remains deeply connected to his roots in music. He continues to work on new projects as Piccolobeatz, pushing creative boundaries in the industry. “Music is a big part of who I am,” he said. “Even as I build, I’m still producing and working with artists. It’s all about balance, and I’m lucky to have a team that allows me to pursue both my business and my music.”
Piccolobeatz’s journey is one of remarkable balance between artistic brilliance and corporate savvy, redefining success through his leadership of the brand while continuing to shape the sound of the Nigerian music scene.
