Rentspace Tech CEO Angel Ajede Revolutionizes Affordable Renting for Nigerians

Angel Ajede, CEO of Rentspace Technologies, weighs in on the reality that many young Nigerians face today. With salaries really low and high rental fees that’s unbearable.
In an interview with our reporter, the Nigerian Entrepreneur and CEO shared details about herself as well as crucial facts regarding her company, RentSpace Tech’s approach to addressing rent affordability and fostering a saving culture among Nigerians.

Thank you for joining us. Could you tell us about the financial challenges young Nigerians face, especially when it comes to rent?

Thank you for having me. For many young Nigerians, the numbers just don’t add up. A salary of ₦150,000 against rent costs as high as ₦800,000 is simply unsustainable. In a country where flexible work hours are rare, low income and high rent create an almost impossible situation for many. Over half of Nigerian youth today can’t even afford a decent car due to skyrocketing prices. It’s a difficult reality for millions who work hard but struggle to afford a place they can truly call home.

It sounds like an incredibly difficult situation. What inspired you to dig deeper into these issues?

To better understand the challenges, my team and I conducted surveys and had conversations with people directly affected. I’ve spoken with young professionals, single mothers, and countless others who shared their struggles. The stories they told were powerful and inspiring, despite the obstacles they face. Their resilience is what drives me to find solutions through RentSpace Tech.

So, how is RentSpace Tech addressing these issues?

RentSpace is very close to my heart. We’re launching more products that not only help people with renting but also address their basic needs. I know saving money seems impossible in this economy, but it’s essential. That’s why we’re increasing the interest percentage on our products to encourage a savings culture. We’re also exploring how we can create affordable housing options through our existing platform. It’s a complex issue, but I truly believe we can make a positive impact.

What do you hope to achieve with these initiatives?

My goal is to make renting more affordable and less stressful. We want to empower people financially, provide support, and foster a culture of savings, so they can build stability and independence over time. We’re committed to helping Nigerians access decent housing without compromising on other essentials.

Interviewer: Thank you so much for sharing insights into RentSpace Tech and your mission. It’s clear that you’re deeply passionate about helping young Nigerians achieve financial stability.

CEO, RentSpace Tech: Thank you for having me. I believe that every Nigerian deserves a fair shot at financial freedom, and if RentSpace Tech can play a role in making that a reality, then we’re on the right path.
We’re just getting started, and I’m excited for what the future holds.
