Three students of Methodist Boys High School in Lagos, Omamogho Ajufuntsi, Fahm Aremu, and Ogunsola Oladimeji, have emerged winner of the maiden edition of the ‘Olabode Mubasheer Agusto Educational Grant’.

The grant which covers a period of three years (SS1 to SS3), was established in honour of the life and legacy of Mr. Olabode Mubasheee Agusto, who was an old-boy of the Methodist Boys High School and the founder of Agusto & Co.

In her remarks, the Managing Director, Agusto & Co, Mrs. Yinka Adelekan, said: “Today marks a day before the anniversary of the passing of the Founder of Agusto & Company Limited, Mr. Olabode Agusto, and the essence of launching an educational grant in his honour is because we knew what he stood for in terms of education.

“Bode Agusto believed that education is the bedrock that would change our society, and today, we give back to his Alma-mata.

“We believe that his alma-mata was very important in the creation of who he became while he was on earth.

“Today, we are giving three beneficiaries, who are students of Methodist Boys High School, who, because of financial constraints or mishap in the family, are unable to continue the studentship of this school.

“What we have done is to provide the means for them to complete their education at the school.

“This is the first edition, and we will be running it for the next five years by sponsoring three students’ education every year through SS 1 to SS 3 for the next five years.”

Speaking more about the Grant, Human Resources Business Partner of Agusto & Co, Dapo Fajemirokun, noted that: “The grant is a form of financial aid facilitated by Agusto & Co to assist eligible students from Methodist Boys High School.

“As Mr. Agusto would say, ‘let your load be light’; the scheme will attempt to ‘lighten the load’ of parents and guardians of deserving students; students that are sound academically, by paying their tuition fees from SS1 to SS3 classes.

“The grant will kick off this year and will be available to three students annually for the next three years, and this initial run will elapse in five years.”
