CITN Confirms Oso as Registrar, Chief Executive
The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) has officially confirmed the appointment of Mrs. Afolake Olawumi Oso as its Registrar/Chief Executive effective.
The institute in a statement stated that Oso’s appointment took effect from October 18.
With a Law background, Oso has had a remarkable journey in the institute since she joined in 2008 as a Manager in the Research department, where she later rose through the ranks to become Acting Head of Education and Research in 2015 and later confirmed the same year.
In 2016, she was promoted to the level of Assistant Director and later redeployed to the exams and student affairs department in 2017. Following a restructuring exercise in the institute, Oso was made to head CITN’s Corporate Affairs Department and in 2020, she was appointed as acting deputy director, corporate services, membership and external relations to oversee the corporate services, membership and external relations departments.
Before her present role, she was the Deputy Registrar, Technical and Professional Services in 2021, and later appointed the acting Registrar/Chief Executive of the institute.
Commenting, Director of Corporate and Internal Services at CITN, Mrs. Oyeronke Ojo, congratulated the appointee, affirming that her elevation was well -deserved.
“Her dedication and exceptional performance have been evident throughout her tenure with the Institute, and we are confident in her ability to lead CITN to greater heights.
“Her promotion to this significant role is a testament to her hard work, expertise, and commitment to the Institute’s goals. Her extensive experience and leadership within CITN make her a valuable asset, and her appointment is set to further strengthen the Institute’s position in the industry.” she said.
