Seunzzy Sax wins “Exquisite Artist of the Year” award at the 2024 Mr & Miss Nigeria International

The fast rising Gospel Artist, Seunzzy Sax emerged as the winner of the “Exquisite Artist of the Year” award at the 2024 Mr. and Miss Nigeria International that took place at the amazing Ibom Hall, Uyo Akwa Ibom State.

Commenting on it feels about receiving an award at a pageantry event, where fashion and entertainment dominate, Seunzzy Sax said: “Fashion, entertainment, pageantry, and yes, gospel music. People tend to put things into boxes, but I see it differently. Just because gospel music is spiritual doesn’t mean it can’t have a place in the broader creative world. This award shows that gospel isn’t limited to the church; it’s for everyone, everywhere. God’s influence touches everything, and that includes platforms like pageantry. So to me, this is a celebration of God’s work in every corner of life.

According to the singer of ‘Kabiyesi’ who said Entertainment shows shouldn’t limit gospel music: “I’d say to those people, be careful not to limit where God’s message can reach. I didn’t ask for this award, it was given to me by a group of people who recognized my work. If anything, it’s proof that gospel music and its message can penetrate places people might not expect. As for the glamour, I see no contradiction. After all, there’s beauty in the way God creates us all, isn’t He?

When asked whether he has premonition of the award, Seunzzy Sax said: “My absence was purely due to scheduling conflicts. I’m deep in preparation for an event in Israel, which is a massive undertaking. There was no hidden agenda or anything like that. I wanted to be there, but I simply couldn’t be in two places at once. My team, especially my manager and the CEO of Microck Entertainment, stepped in for me, and they did an amazing job. No conspiracy there, just a busy schedule!

The fast rising gospel singer also added that what he is currently working, Seunzzy Sax said: “the event in Israel is something I’m really passionate about. It’s going to be a worship experience, bringing gospel music to one of the most sacred places on Earth. It’s going to be a huge production, and the energy there will be incredible. For me, playing my sax in Israel is more than just a performance—it’s a ministry moment. That’s why I had to dedicate all my focus to it, even though missing the award ceremony wasn’t easy.

Speaking on what’s next for Seunzzy Sax after the Israel event in such occasions as more gospel music making waves in unexpected places like pageantry events, Seunzzy Sax said: “Oh, absolutely! This is just the beginning. Gospel music has no boundaries. I’m already working on new projects that will continue to push those boundaries. God didn’t give us creativity to be confined to one space. You’ll definitely see more gospel music making waves in ways people might not expect. It’s time to shake things up!
