ISN Medical Supports Lagos Students Through Future Scientist Programme
ISN Medical has launched its Future Scientist Programme, a corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at empowering secondary school students to make informed career choices.
The programme’s maiden edition hosted six Lagos-based schools, introducing students to medical diagnostic solutions and career opportunities in healthcare.
The schools include: Gbaja Girls, Lagos City Senior College, Fazil-Omar, Birrel Avenue, Wesley City and Mainland Senior Secondary School.
During the two-day event, students toured ISN Medical’s headquarters, interacting with staff and management.
They learned about clinical chemistry, haematology, and genomics, and engaged in a competitive quiz session, where Afelogun Kehinde of Fazil-Omar Senior Secondary School emerged as the winner.
ISN Medical’s MD/CEO, Felix Ofungwu, encouraged students to explore healthcare delivery possibilities,
“Our goal is to foster world-class medical laboratory scientists, providing them with the tools, training, and exposure that they require to measure up to any medical laboratory scientist anywhere in the world.”
Chief Operating Officer Sunil Agarwal emphasised solution-minded thinking.
“Provide accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare,” he urged.
The programme, organised in partnership with Jakin N.G.O, aimed to expose students to possibilities and align them with purpose.
CEO/founder, Jakin Mrs. Olubukola Adebiyi advised the students to take seriously everything that they had learnt from the sessions and remain excellent in their endeavours.
She commended ISN Medical for the initiative saying that “this opportunity exposes the children to possibilities and helps them align with a purpose that can mark their future.”
Representing the Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu ALLI-Balogun, Mr. Adedamola stressed dedication and right choices.
He maintained that they were already on the right path and only they had the power to stop themselves from achieving whatever they set their minds on.
Dignitaries present included Rtd Director Education District IV, Dr. Mrs. Adenekan Olusola; A.C.E.O Education District IV, Mrs. Jones O.F and the team from Chronicare Diabetes Management Centre, led by Dr. Oluwaseun Shodipo , and Nurse Grace Nledim.
