As part of its commitment to accessible fitness, i-Fitness, West Africa’s largest fitness chain, has expanded its footprint across Lagos State by launching three new branches in Iponri, Lekki, and Gbagada areas of the state. This brings i-Fitness’s total number of branches in Lagos to 21, promoting its mission to make health and wellness accessible for all residents of Lagos.
The new locations boast world-class facilities, certified trainers, and over 40 weekly fitness classes, establishing the company as a leader in Nigeria’s fitness industry.
Located at strategic spots across Lagos, these branches are designed to cater to diverse fitness needs.
The Iponri branch marks i-Fitness’s second location in Surulere, while the Lekki branch integrates with the vibrant Purple Lekki complex. The Gbagada branch offers double the space of previous branches, positioning i-Fitness to accommodate even more members on their fitness journeys.
At each opening event, i-Fitness organised interactive activities to celebrate the milestone, culminating with the launch of its “Coming of Age” 21st branch.
Speaking on the new branches, its Founder and CEO Foluso Ogunwale reiterated i-Fitness’s ongoing commitment to creating accessible, high-quality fitness solutions.
“We are thrilled to open our doors to both new and existing members,” Ogunwale said.
“This expansion brings us closer to inspiring healthy living and building a fitter Lagos by providing top-tier fitness options that are accessible and inclusive.”
i-Fitness Chairman, Danladi Verheijen, also reiterated the brand’s vision of making fitness a lifestyle for Nigerians. “Our growing network is not just about opening gyms,” Verheijen said.
“It’s about nurturing a movement that promotes healthier and happier living. As we expand, we also invest in Nigeria’s economy, creating jobs for close to 1,000 young Nigerians and establishing a modern fitness culture.”
The recent expansion has also garnered government support, with Lagos State Commissioner for Youth, Sports, and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, who attended the Gbagada branch opening stressing the importance of accessible fitness centers like i-Fitness for Lagos residents.
“It is commendable to see i-Fitness promoting healthy lifestyles, aligning with our mission to make health resources more accessible,” the commissioner said.
Now operating 24 branches across Nigeria, i-Fitness plans to continue expanding nationwide.
