Edun Urges Minister of State to Approach Responsibilities withConfidence, Creativity

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun has urged the newly-appointed Minister of State, Finance, Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite
to approach her responsibilities with confidence and creativity.
He gave the admonition in Abuja, Monday as Uzoka-Anite officially resumed duties after the recent cabinet reshuffle.
She was until recently, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment.
In his opening remarks while receiving the Minister of State, Edun expressed enthusiasm for the arrival of Uzoka-Anite, commending her dedication in ensuring the realisation of the policy objectives of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.
He acknowledged the foresight of the President in appointing a minister of state, noting that Uzoka-Anite’s expertise would be instrumental in supporting ongoing economic initiatives.
A statement by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Manga said that Edun extended a warm welcome to Uzoka-Anite and encouraged her to approach her responsibilities with confidence and creativity.
Reflecting on recent achievements, the finance minister highlighted the progress of economic reforms, pointing to the achievements recorded by the present administration, such as, the establishment of a market-based foreign exchange rate and the implementation of market-driven pricing for petroleum products.
Responding, Uzoka-Anite expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, promising to collaborate closely with Edun, whom she has previously worked with in various capacities.
She thanked President Tinubu for entrusting her with the new role and assured of her dedication to advancing the president’s mandate within the financial sector.
Ealier in her opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, assured that the ministry would continue to create an enabling environment for the full implementation of the policies and programmes of the federal government in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration
Other notable dignatories at the event included the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS),
Dr. Zacch Adedeji, directors within the ministry; and staff from the various departments.
