Lagbaja’s Visionary Leadership Inspired Countless Soldiers, Says Onyejeocha

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has joined Nigerians in mourning the passing of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, whose death was announced on Wednesday after a brief illness.

Onyejeocha, in a statement by her media adviser, Emameh Gabriel, described the deceased as a highly dedicated officer whose leadership and vision inspired countless soldiers.

The Minister added that Lagbaja’s legacy will continue to motivate future generation of soldiers in Nigeria.

She said, “Today, I join all compatriots as the nation mourns the loss of a brave and selfless leader, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, whose life was cut short after battling with illness.

“I pay tribute to a remarkable individual who dedicated his life to protecting the country, a highly accomplished officer, who demonstrated unflinching commitment to combating insurgency.

“He showed exceptional leadership and vision, inspiring junior officers across the country

“Through his selfless service, he embodied the values of courage, resilience, and patriotism, earning the respect and admiration of the people.

“His legacy will continue to inspire and motivate those who follow in his footsteps, ensuring his impact on the nation endures.

“In this somber moment, I join other Nigerians to honour his memory, acknowledging the immense contribution he made to the country’s growth and stability.

“May his family, colleagues, and loved ones find solace in the knowledge that his sacrifices will never be forgotten.

“To the Nigerian Army and the families of the deceased, I offer my deepest sympathies. May you find strength in the face of this tragedy and solace in the knowledge that Lt. Gen. Lagbaja sacrifices will never be forgotten.
