Newmark Group Limited, a Pan African Communications and Public Relations Company, yesterday, clinched the prestigious award as the PR Champion of Africa at the AfriTECH 4.0 Summit and Awards, held at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Receiving the award on behalf of Newmark Group Limited, its Country Head and Senior Account Manager, Lovelyn Okafor, thanked the organisers for the recognition and promised to maintain the global standard in Public Relations, as always exemplified by Newmark Group.

Expressing her joy over the recognition of the award, Okafor said: I’m very excited about the award because it just goes to serve as a testament, not just of the hard work of the team at Newmark, but also about the support that we get from our clients and from our partners and also the rest of the members of the team. We are just grateful to AfriTECH for the recognition. We are grateful because it strengthens our efforts. It goes a long way to encourage us to do even more, to keep pushing the boundaries in terms of storytelling, which is what we are doing. So we are happy about it. The award is a PR Excellence Award and I am glad that Newmark won the award this year.”

She said the award would spur Newmark team to do more in terms of maintaining the standard of public relations in servicing clients.  “Yes, we’ll keep doing even more. We’ll keep telling the stories of our partners and our clients. We’ll keep strengthening communications, not just in Nigeria, but in Africa because Newmark serves over 35 African countries. So yes, we’ll keep doing what we do and we’ll keep refining it as we go on,” Okafor said.
Asked about her personal feelings that Newmark won the award, she said: I’m supper excited, because I am strengthened that the PR company where I work, has been recognized for what we do.
“It’s strengthening to be recognized for excellence. So it just tells us that we are doing something good. We will have to do more because you know, even more is expected from us now that we have been recognized. So we’ll keep doing even more than is expected of us,” she said.

She added: “We are thankful that they have recognized Newmark for excellence and we are delighted for the platform. We are also happy that our client, QNET also won award this year, and this speaks a lot about the partnerships that we have, the support that we get from our clients and the support that we provide ourselves as an African public relations company. So it’s exciting to see that the works we are doing, not just for ourselves, but also for our clients are paying off.”

Giving insight to one of the sessions that she moderated during the summit, which focused on financial inclusion, Okafor said she was pleased to moderate the session and to share her experience.

“Yes, we were talking about financial inclusion. We are happy because we are trying to create opportunities for everybody to be part of the financial space. It doesn’t matter where you are, it doesn’t matter who you are. Everybody requires some level of financial support and that’s what the platform for financial technology is providing and the solutions that we are seeing today, So, I’m happy to have moderated that session, and I’m happy to have sat with such industry leaders’ forum. It’s a pleasure to know that Nigeria is moving and moving at a very fast pace in the financial sector of the Nigerian economy,” Okafor said.
