As part of a comprehensive strategy to protect the digital future of Nigeria’s youth, Cyber Culture Interface, a visionary initiative of PARAC Concepts and Solutions organised the Cybersecurity and Digital Sustainability Workshop (CDSW) at Tunwase High School, Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos  recently
 
“The essence of this workshop is to create awareness among students on the importance of cybersecurity and digital sustainability,” said Olalekan Ilori, Founder of Cyber Culture Interface.
“We want to empower them with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the digital landscape safely and responsibly”, he added.
 
The workshop, held on October 24, brought together renowned experts and thought leaders in the fields of cybersecurity and digital sustainability.
 
“Digital sustainability is not just about technology; it’s about the impact of our online activities on the environment. We need to be mindful of our digital footprints and take steps to reduce our carbon footprint,  noted Ilori.
 
Cyber Culture Interface seeks to create a culture of cybersecurity awareness and digital sustainability among Nigerian youth.
 
“The earlier we start educating our youth on cybersecurity, the better equipped they will be to tackle the challenges of the digital world,” said Ilori.
 
The workshop emphasised the importance of privacy, digital footprints, and the interconnectedness of cybersecurity and sustainability.
 
“Protecting our online presence is crucial to safeguarding our personal information and contributing to a healthier environment,” emphasised Ilori.
 
The event featured an essay competition with cash prizes, presentations on cybersecurity, digital sustainability, and their interconnection, and the launch of the Cyber Security Club.
 
“We are committed to reaching 50 schools within the next year. By empowering students to become cybersecurity ambassadors, we aim to create a ripple effect, promoting digital sustainability and cybersecurity awareness nationwide”, said Ilori.
 
Cyber Culture Interface plans to leverage partnerships and community engagement to amplify its impact.
 
“Our grassroots approach will foster a culture of responsibility and awareness, equipping young people with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the complex digital landscape,” noted Ilori.
