No More ‘Up NEPA’ as Bakare Donates Power Plant to UNILAG Law Faculty

The University of Lagos (Unilag) Faculty of Law have declared that there will no longer be a shout of “Up NEPA” again in the community following the donation of a power plant by Pastor Tunde Bakare.
The Dean of the Faculty, Professor Abiola Sanni, who made the declaration at the commissioning of the project lamented that the faculty has been at the mercy of the power company for many months now.
Sanni told Bakare that as an alumnus of the faculty, he is changing the narrative not only within the law faculty but also the university community.
The donation of the power plant was made as part of the 70th birthday celebration of the Presiding Pastor of the Citadel Global Assembly Church.
Speaking, Bakare who said that he wanted to retire from the service of the church upon attaining 70 years, however said he was encouraged to soldier on by Chief Afe Babalola who is 95 years old and had told him that the inspiration to build a university, the Afe Babalola University conceived at the age of 82 years.
Bakare who called himself a great Akokite disclosed that when he attained 50 years he donated to his primary school, at 60 years he donated classroom building to Lisabi Grammar School, his secondary school and that at 70 years he’s happy to have done something for his university
He urged his mates including the Justice Kazeem Alogba, the Chief Judge of Lagos State that they should donate to humanity.
The Vice Chancellor, represented by his deputy, Prof. Victoria Ayodele, was thankful to Bakare for his impactful donation.
