TIBA Celebrates, Awards Nigerian Brands, Business
The Iconic Brand Africa (TIBA) has celebrated Nigerian individuals, brands, and businesses that are impacting the social and corporate sectors of the country through honours and awards.
The conferment of the awards was held on Saturday in Lagos during the sixth edition of the TIBA Conference and Awards event, with the theme ‘Redefining excellence in business and career’.
Brand expert and founder/convener of TIBA, Omobabinrin Osideko, stated that since the inception of the organisation in 2019, they have grown into a force that is shaping Africa’s future and a movement that is celebrating career professionals and business owners.
Speaking on the nomination processes and the winners of the awards, the TIBA boss stated that the “nominations for the awards poured in from across the continent, and once again, we will honour those who inspire through excellence, innovation, and integrity.”
The founder of HR Talent Hub and chairperson of TIBA’s advisory board, Omotola Adedapo, noted that TIBA Conferences and Awards are reflections of their evolving vision to create a platform that connects, elevates, and empowers professionals and entrepreneurs across Africa.
Speaking about the awards, TIBA’s advisory chairperson stressed that excellence is not solely individual, that it contributes to collective success, and that was why they are honouring and awarding successful people and businesses.
She added that the resilience, ingenuity, and perseverance of the nominated and awarded individuals, brands, and businesses “have defined our continent’s dynamic landscape, and it testifies to their vision of shaping industries in Africa and beyond.”
However, the Senior Franchise Director, FMCG in Nigeria, Phoebe Dami-Asolo, while delivering the keynote speech, stated that for anybody or organisation to attain excellence, they must work for it.
“Excellence comes with discipline. The first try should be the best. If you must do it, do it well. Every time you show up, it should be your best,” she charged the audience.
Also the Director of Learning and Development at TIBA, Temitope Ogundeji, said that excellence is a destination, a continuum.
She urged the audience to keep improving and striving to become good in the things they do.
About the awards, Ogundeji, said the awardees are people who have stood out in their businesses and careers, even though some of them are not big and popular.
“That is to tell you that whatever you are doing, strive for excellence. People are watching you. So, whatever you do, be the best at it and stand tall wherever you are found,” she added.
