A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Alhaji Abdulhameed Umar Danladi has said a merger of principal actors in the opposition political parties in the country to slug it out with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027 will soon emerge.
Abdulhameed Danladi who declined to give details of the proposed merger was optimistic that the outcome of the merger will send the APC out of government at both the national and in many states in the country.
Danladi who is the Special Adviser Diaspora to the Kano state Governor and at different times Commissioner for Information and Education in Niger state, while exchanging views with newsmen in Minna on Wednesday thumbed down the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu saying the APC led federal government has taken the nation back several decades and inflicted pains on majority of Nigerians.
“There is hunger in the land we produce petrol yet our people cannot fuel their vehicles, the minimum wage cannot take the worker home” Danladi declared.
Commenting on the ongoing crisis within the leadership of the NNPP, the Special Adviser dismissed the claim with a wave of the hand declaring that “Kwankwaso is NNPP, NNPP is Kwankwaso”.
“Kwankwaso is the heartbeat of NNPP when Kwankwaso leaves NNPP, NNPP ceases to exist,” he claimed.
He asserted that it was the NNPP backed by Rabiu Kwankwaso that was recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, disclosing that INEC was at the last National Executive Council meeting of the party.
Danladi however accused the Niger state chapter of the party of betrayal of trust and sell out, saying some members of the leadership of the party collected a whopping N20m before they defected to the ruling party in the state.
