Church Praying for Tinubu Administration, Says Clergy

In the face of economic hardship, insecurity and unemployment, the Good Tidings Bible Church has declared its commitment to the administration of the President Bola Tinubu Administration and has assured that the Church in Nigeria is praying for the success of the government.
Chairman of Church Council, Jide Adeniji, who stated this yesterday in Abuja during the 20th anniversary celebration of the church, said Christians in Nigeria had continued to play their roles in politics and governance as taught in the bible that leaders should be prayed for by those whom they lead.
In encouraging Christians to go into politics and demystify the belief that politics is dirty, Adeniji who said that with the participation of genuine Christians in the affairs of the nation, Nigeria is set to experience the wave of peace that will bring joy to the people, added that it is hoped that the government will also listen to the yearnings of the people.
He said “The church has been playing her roles concerning the affairs of the state. We have been praying for the Nigerian nation. A nation without Christ is in crisis and that is why the bible says when the wicked is on the throne, the people mourn, but when the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice.
“What the bible is saying is that the government will be on the body of Christ and his name will be called wonderful. There is no government that will be called wonderful when Christians run away from governance. He said his name will be called the Prince of Peace. There will be violence when Christians run away from governance.
“So the bible is encouraging that Christian should come into governance and politics. A lot of people believe that politics is dirty; Christians can come in and clean the dirt. The bible also says we are the light of the world and when we enter, darkness cannot comprehend us. I have never seen a place where darkness intimidates light. Light intimidates darkness no matter how big or gross.
“So when Christians go into governance, there will be settlement, there will be light. I can assure you that the Church of Christ is praying for the government. The bible says we should pray for our leaders and we are praying for them, and it is for them also to listen and to hear the voice of God” he said.
The coordinating pastor, Mike Ogoro, said the celebrating church has gone through tough times and God has been fighting her battles and knowing how to take control of such situations.
He reiterated that the doors of the church are open to everyone- both for the good and for the bad, and “so we shouldn’t use the words of the bad ones to tarnish the image of the good ones, and because God is the one that has built the church, he says the gates of hell shall not prevail. So we will keep on depending on him.
He noted that “after 20 years is the beginning of the 21st year and 21 years of seven times three and perfection is heaven. Three is the triumph God and this year, the triumph God will go into perfection with us. The church is going to rise from strength to strength.”
The church which commenced in 2004 has had the teachings of the good news of Jesus Christ and restoring hope in the lives of many through its sermons of restoration, healing and deliverance.
