In honour of a life well spent and to the service of humanity, the federal government has immortalised Late Abibat Mogaji and has named the ICT block of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development after her.

Mogaji was the mother of President Bola Tinubu and was known to be an astute business woman and philanthropist.

Speaking at the occasion in Abuja yesterday, the Minister of Women Affairs, Iman Suleiman- Ibrahim said the gesture was in line with women celebrating women and recognizing their key to achieving sustainable women’s empowerment across board.

She noted that the celebration and honor was remarkable in the values of gender inclusion, women empowerment, and humanitarian services rendered by a resilient matriarch who served as a testament to the relentless pursuit of her unwavering commitment to the upliftment of women and the extraordinary efforts in creating a more compassionate society where no one is left behind.

She said the unveiling of the new name of the ICT block will serve as a symbol to strive harder for the rights of women, honor their contributions in the country and build a society where every woman and child can fulfil their potential with dignity and pride.

According to her, “Women celebrating women and recognizing their own is key to achieving sustainable women’s empowerment across board.
