Onye Ubanatu Honored with Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg Certificate of Recognition.

Nigerian creative entrepreneur Onye Ubanatu has received Germany’s prestigious Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg Certificate of Appreciation for his exceptional support of the Nollywood Workshop in Benin City. The initiative, aimed at fostering cultural exchange between Africa’s burgeoning film industry and Germany’s renowned film school, highlights Ubanatu’s commitment to empowering African creatives and promoting cross-cultural collaboration.

Ubanatu’s dedication to storytelling and creating opportunities for African filmmakers has gained global recognition. Reflecting on the achievement, Márk Szilágyi, Project Coordinator at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, remarked on the impactful partnership between Nigeria’s Edo state and Germany, further strengthened by the repatriation of the Benin Bronzes in 2022.

“This recognition is a testament to the power of collaboration and the importance of storytelling in bridging cultural divides,” Ubanatu stated.
