Beta Glass, Stakeholders Advocate PPP for Effective Waste Management

Leading glass container manufacturers in Central and West Africa, Beta Glass, joined other stakeholders to emphasise the urgent need for a Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) to tackle Nigeria’s waste management challenges. 

This call to action was made during Beta Glass’s 50th-anniversary celebration, which brought together over 150 industry leaders, environmental advocates, and key stakeholders.

The event, tagged, “Fresh Perspective,” was hosted in partnership with Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), ProvidusBank, and Wecyclers. 

The event highlighted successful partnerships between Beta Glass and organizations such as Wecyclers, the Food and Beverage Recycling Alliance (FBRA), and the Recycling Scheme for Women and Youth Empowerment (RESWAYE).

In his address, Beta Glass CEO Alexander Gendis stressed the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges. 

According to him, “The path to a sustainable future requires strong partnerships and bold actions, and we are proud to lead this charge in Nigeria.”

Also speaking, Frigoglass Group CEO Serge Joris reaffirmed the parent company’s commitment to sustainability, emphasizing its role in fostering innovation and supporting environmental initiatives globally.

The event featured three panel sessions. The first session, “Environmental Sustainability: Practices and Innovation,” explored sustainable business practices and circular economy models.
