FACOBA Elects New Executives

A member of the 1984 set, Elder Olugbenga Ajayi, has been elected the National President of the prestigious Fatima College, Ikire Old Boys Association (FACOBA).
Ajayi, the immediate past National Vice President, emerged winner with 77 votes during the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held at the School Hall, defeating Otunba Muyiwa Olaore, who scored 39 votes.
Other highlight of the AGM was the inauguration of the Administrative Block of the school which was renovated by a member of the 1986 set and Managing Director, Petrocam Training Nigeria Limited, Dr. Patrick Ilo.
Ajayi in his post-election speech, assured Nigerians of running an inclusive, transparent and accountable administration, stating that being in the system of leadership of the association for over 20 years prepared him for the position.
He lauded members of the association for making the election a huge success as their participation, enthusiasm, and commitment to the association are inspiring, pledging that he and other members of the executives would not shirk the enormous responsibilities placed on their shoulders.
A member of the 2001 set, Architect Saheed Adedayo was elected National Vice President with 78 votes while a member of the 2002 set, Mr. Sarafadeen Ajibade emerged National Secretary with 69 votes.
Other members of the FACOBA executive elected unopposed include Mr. Taiwo Ayanboade, National Assistant Secretary; Prof. Oladapo Olayemi, National Treasurer; Mr. Jubril Ogundepo, National Financial Secretary; Mr. Taiwo Ojewande, National Publicity Secretary and Mr. Adebayo Abiade, Internal Auditor while the immediate past National President, Pastor Henry Otoibhi and immediate past National Secretary, Prince Emmanuel Oshomah, emerged Ex-Officio members based on constitutional provision.
Ilo, in his remarks at the event, said he was honoured to have the opportunity of renovating the administrative building by leaving a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire and empower future generations, stating that the renovation of the building is not just a physical upgrade but a symbol of the commitment to the values that Fatima College represents such as excellence, compassion, and service.
He said: “As I look around this beautiful college, I am reminded of the countless memories and lessons that these walls have witnessed. Fatima College has always been more than just a school – it’s a community, a family that nurtures and inspires its members to become the best version of themselves. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the old boys association of the school, particularly the executives. Your hard work and expertise have brought this vision to life, and I am forever grateful.”
