Oluyamo Congratulates Aiyedatiwa
An industrialist and community leader in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Bayo Oluyamo, has congratulated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State and advised him to set up an action committee of technocrats and professionals not politicians, who would give genuine advice for good governance.
Oluyamo said implementation of the recommendations by the committee would guarantee great improvement on the marvellous record of his predecessor, the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
In a statement signed by his media adviser, Gboyega Amoboye, he attributed the success of Aiyedatiwa to his honesty of purpose, uniting the people and continuation with the late Governor Akeredolu’s legacy.
He mentioned some of Akeredolu’s achievements that Ayedatiwa never abandoned as roads construction across the state, education, healthcare, water, rural infrastructure and adequate funding of the three government-owned universities.
According to him, the core legacy of Akeredolu was provision of security. Therefore, he advised Aiyedatiwa never to relax on this but strengthen the Amotekun which has made Ondo State safe.
He advocated for the creation of a Road Maintenance Agency for regular maintenance of existing roads along with new ones to reduce cost and ensure all year round motorable roads.
To minimise hardship due to fuel deregulation, Oluyamo said the public transportation system should be reinforced to provide welfare schemes for students and pensioners while education, agriculture, rural development, healthcare, especially health centres and maternity homes in every community should be prioritised.
He said improvements on rural infrastructure, especially feeder roads, would boost agriculture, especially cocoa and food crops.
According to him, Ondo State has what it takes to become an industrial giant with bitumen and an abundance of lime stones for cement factories, paints and glass industry.
