CABAN Unveils Education Outreach Program to Support Rural Communities

In a bid to address the growing educational challenges in rural communities, the Candid Brothers Association of Nigeria (CABAN) has launched a new outreach initiative aimed at providing critical learning resources and support to students in underserved areas. The initiative comes as a response to the decline in educational quality across the country, particularly affecting rural regions due to economic hardships and a lack of essential educational resources.

“We understand the importance of education and knowledge,” said CABAN’s President, Bethel Nzeji. “This outreach is about giving renewed hope to parents and their children who cannot afford the basic needs required for learning. Every child deserves the right to dream of a bright future, and we’re here to make that possible.”

The project is fully funded by contributions and donations from CABAN members, underscoring the association’s commitment to supporting education despite the economic strain felt nationwide. CABAN’s Vice President, Vincent Amakor, emphasized the association’s dedication to inspiring the youth. “Our target audience is students and pupils in rural communities,” he explained. “We want them to know they are seen, to remain dedicated, and to achieve academic success so they can become exemplary citizens in the near future.”

The outreach will provide an array of resources, including learning materials, scholarships, and basic amenities, as well as financial support for tuition and exam registration. Organizers have also planned engaging activities such as quizzes, allowing students to win prizes as recognition for their academic excellence.

Highlighting CABAN’s legacy of service, Bethel Nzeji reflected on previous impactful initiatives led by the organization. “Our motto, ‘unity and aid to the nation,’ drives every project we undertake,” he stated. “Post-COVID, we assisted in paying hospital bills for those who couldn’t afford it, provided financial aid to widows, and supported orphans at the Nigerian Red Cross Orphanage. We’re working towards greater achievements—one community at a time.”

Although currently self-funded, CABAN welcomes potential partnerships to expand the reach and impact of its community initiatives. A CABAN member Tony Aka shared, “We won’t stop working in our own capacity for the greater good. Our vision is to leave a lasting, positive impact on every community we reach.”

CABAN’s latest outreach initiative is not only a testament to the power of community support but also a reminder that, even in challenging times, hope and progress are possible through unity and dedication.
