Yabacon Set to Host Tech Summit

Yabacon Africa, an organisation promoting innovation and technological advancement in Africa, has announced its flagship annual event, Yabacon Meet 2024.

Scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at The Zone, Gbagada, Lagos, the event promises to bring together Africa’s brightest minds in tech, including professionals, students, innovators, and investors.

According to a statement by the organisation, this year’s theme, “Innovating For A Brighter Tomorrow,” will feature inspiring expert presentations, a dynamic panel discussion titled “Innovation Against the Odds: Turning Challenges into Opportunities,” and NGN1M pitch competition.

The competition will provide a platform for participants to pitch their innovative ideas, with the winner receiving a ₦1,000,000 grant to bring their vision to life.

According to the Founder of Yabacon Africa, Jesse Essang, “Yabacon Meet 2024 is designed to celebrate Africa’s innovative spirit and highlight our collective ability to drive progress through collaboration and bold ideas.”

He added that the event will also feature a lineup of renowned speakers, including Abiola Rasaq, David Ike-Njoku, Opeyemi Akosile, Jeremiah Folorunso, Folake Dauda, and Oluwaseun Adesina, who will share their insights on software development, open-source innovation, artificial intelligence, and more.
