Abig Nwankwo Foundation Set to Host the Second Annual Football Competition for Okija Indigenes
The stage is set for one of the most anticipated grassroots football tournaments in Anambra state, as Abig Nwankwo Foundation set to host the second Annul football competition for Okija indigenes.
This sporting event which is open for the nine Obi areas in Okija promises to bring together local talents, enthusiastic supporters, and an array of high profile dignitaries for a celebration of skill, teamwork and community spirit.
Speaking to the founder and chairman Abig Nwankwo Foundation, Ichie ABIG Chimezie Nwankwo said that his sole purpose for the event is to promote and inspire the young people’s spirit of development and growth in our dear town Okija. In his words, I quote “I love my town Okija very much that I can do anything for its growth and development. I believe so much in the youth of my town, and I won’t stop encouraging them by the little God has blessed me with”.
In the same vein, the Head Organizing Committee of the football tournament who is also the Director of Operations Bigly Group of Companies, Engr. CHUKWUMA Nwabuikwu noted with great enthusiasm the importance of sport in our lives. He said that it’s one the major ways of achieving unity and peace in the society. He also appreciated his boss, the chairman Abig Nwankwo Foundation for his efforts to bring peace and stability amongst the youth in the community.
ABIG Nwankwo Foundation Second Annual Football Tournament for Okija Indigenes will kick off on Sunday December 1, 2024 at St Mary’s Field Okija and the finals which is expected to host the Governor of Anambra state Prof Soludo and other dignitaries will be held on January 7, 2025 at the same venue. This is also a way of showing support to the vision of the Governor of Anambra State by helping to promote sports and improve peaceful coexistence in rural communities.
