Whalemouth announces 3rd Edition of Ughelli to the World: Empowering Youths, Combating Cultism

In a bid to eradicate cultism and anti-social behaviors among youths in Ughelli, Delta State, renowned comedian Usiaphe Kevin popularly known as Whalemouth, alongside other youth leaders, has announced the second edition of Ughelli to the World. This initiative is designed to highlight the immense talent in the community while providing meaningful engagement for its youths.

Whalemouth, a celebrated figure in Nigeria’s comedy industry, has consistently used his platform to inspire and empower young people. His commitment to creating a positive impact in Ughelli is evident in this initiative, which brings together entertainment, mentorship, and empowerment under one umbrella.

A Star-Studded Celebration of Talent

This year’s Ughelli to the World Concert, is set to take place on December 29, 2024, at Wetland Hotel, Ughelli. Speaking about the concert, Whalemouth described it as an opportunity to unite Ughelli sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, to celebrate their heritage and showcase their talents.

“Ughelli to the World will feature a lineup of Nigeria’s top celebrities, including AY, Gordon’s, Erigga, Nas Boi, Oritsefemi, Kelvinsap, Edo Pikin, Mr. Paul, and many others,” said Whalemouth. “It’s more than just a show, it’s a platform to inspire the next generation to embrace their creativity and rise above negative influences.”

Whalemouth, whose comedy career has made him a household name, will also take the stage during the event, using his humor to connect with the audience while delivering a powerful message about self-discovery and personal growth.

A Mission to Reclaim Ughelli’s Legacy

MC St. Louis, another leader of the initiative, emphasized its significance in restoring Ughelli’s lost glory. “This initiative isn’t just entertainment, it’s a call to action,” he said. “An idle hand is the devil’s workshop, and through this project, we are engaging youths positively, helping them rediscover their talents and purpose.”

Louis pointed out that many individuals involved in cultism have untapped potential. By providing a platform to showcase and develop their talents, the initiative aims to redirect their energy toward more productive and fulfilling paths.

Tackling Cultism Through Creativity

Nwaze Kenneth, Special Assistant on Youth Affairs to the Delta State Governor, noted that Ughelli to the World is playing a key role in the fight against cultism. “This initiative has already contributed to a decline in cult-related activities in Ughelli,” he said.

He added, “By bringing together role models like Whalemouth and other stars, we’re inspiring young people to dream bigger and focus on building their futures rather than engaging in destructive activities. This project is about showing them a different path, one of creativity, purpose, and self-discovery.”
