Educationist Cautions Youth against Acts Capable of Hindering Academic Vision

The first indigenous Principal, Queens School, Ilorin, Alhaja Raliat Adenike Sanni, at the weekend cautioned Nigeria youths against involving in any action capable of hindering their determination and commitment to achieve their academic vision.

Sanni, an educationist, spoke with journalists in Igbonna in Oyun local government council of Kwara state on the sidelines of the annual Pinnacle Resource Centre Schools debate held at the Resource Centre in Igbonna Town.

About 8 schools of 16 debaters participated in the debate but only two schools, Federal Polytechnic Offa, International School and Nawar-Ud- Deen Grammar School, Offa qualified for the finals.

At the end of the debate competition, the students of Anwar-Ud-Deen Grammar school, Offa emerged as the overall winner of the debate and were presented with various kinds of prizes so as to motivate them.

However, Alhaja Sanni said the center was out to promote educational excellence of the students of Offa community so as to achieve their visions in the academic pursuits in the nearest future.

She said the youths should be future leaders and the only way to achieve this was to be up and doing and refrain from acts that may impede them from achieving their goals in educational development.

The foremost educationist said that, they should strive harder to face their studies in order to become a real gem in their academic attainments in life.

Sanni , a former Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Education said, “Don’t join bandwagon in the school and be up and doing in the tasks of achieving your aims in the bid to contribute your quota towards the educational development of the state, country and Offa community.

“Whenever, you see anything that is not palatable to you, don’t hesitate to tell your parents and teachers and use the corrections to add value to your academic attainment”.

She however urged them to look forward rather than backward in their bid to move education forward.

Also speaking, the manager of the Training and Event of Pinnacle Resource Centre School Debate, Miss. Ololade Ologbosere, said, “Today’s event is the second of its kind of the centre.

“It is annually organised for students in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in Offa community.

“The first we held was for the primary schools and the second one we are holding today is for secondary schools in Offa community and we are looking forward to organising such for university students and that is the reason we tagged it Schools Debate and not to a specific school”.

Ologbosere said, “Though, the event is so challenging in view of getting in touch with schools as some of the schools invited for this year’s edition are currently on examination period as most of the schools are writing their examinations but thank God, we have been able to achieve results for this year outing”.

She added that, the event had provided opportunity for the foundation’s academic outreach and prepare them for their future education attainments.

She noted further that “no fewer than 8 schools of 16 debaters participated in the competition that ran for two weeks before the two schools emerged to participate in the final debate competition.

“And at the end of the day, the two schools that emerged as the participants are Federal Polytechnic, Offa International School and Nawar-Ud- Deen Grammar school, Offa and at the end of the day, Nawar-Ud-Deen Grammar school emerged as the overall winner of this year Pinnacle Resource Centre Schools Debate l”.

Ologbosere however urged the students to be up and doing and work towards achieving their academic excellence so as to be a leading light in the nearest future.
