The 16th Global ELOY Awards, held recently in Lagos, honored the achievements of 20 outstanding women who have made significant contributions in various fields.

The ELOY Awards, which recognise excellence in entrepreneurship, empowerment, and leadership, celebrated women who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment to their respective fields.

This year’s winners included Bimbo Ademoye, who won the ELOY Award for Creative Arts and Entertainment – Acting/Film; Adebimpe Adebambo, who won the ELOY Award for Creative Arts and Entertainment – Fashion/Arts or Music; and Ada Nduka Oyom, who won the ELOY Award for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Other winners included Chiamaka Elujoba, who won the ELOY Award for Health and Wellness; Tolulope Tunde-Ajiboye, who won the ELOY Award for Education and Mentorship; and Sidikat Folami, who won the ELOY Award for Sustainability and Environment.

The ELOY Awards also recognized the achievements of women in the media and communication industry, with Dr. Morayo Afolabi-Brown winning the ELOY Award for Media and Communication.

In addition to the individual awards, the ELOY Awards also honored two women with global recognition awards for their outstanding contributions to their respective fields. The winners were Madame Ngone Diop from Senegal and Dr. Yvonne Thompson from the UK.

The 16th Global ELOY Awards was a celebration of women’s achievements and a testament to the power of women’s empowerment. The awards ceremony was a fitting conclusion to the 16th Global ELOY Conference, which brought together women leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world to discuss issues related to women’s empowerment and leadership.

The conference, which was held from November 25 to 29, focused on the theme of “Leadership and Multiple Streams of Income for Sustainable Empowerment.” The event aimed to arm attendees with the tools and knowledge needed to take control of their lives and businesses in 2025.

Keynote addresses were delivered by notable speakers, including Moji Wusu, Founder of Woodhall Capital Limited, and Dr. Tewa Onasanya, Founder and Convener of the ELOY Awards Foundation. Panel discussions featured experts such as Tayo Afolabi, World PR Limited, and Efe Usin, Women in Export, Trade and Investment.

The networking sessions provided attendees with a unique opportunity to learn from and connect with like-minded individuals. A business pitch session in partnership with Rainoil saw one entrepreneur win a N1,000,000 grant for her sustainable and renewable waste business.

The 16th Global ELOY Conference ended with the graduation ceremony of the women on the ELOY Foundation Sustainable Empowerment program in partnership with FirstBank.

“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s conference and awards,” said Dr. Tewa Onasanya, Founder of the Global ELOYs. “Our goal is to empower women and girls around the world, and we believe that this event has made a significant contribution to achieving that goal.”

The 16th Global ELOY Conference and Awards has set a new standard for women’s empowerment events in Nigeria, and its impact is expected to be felt for years to come. The event has also reinforced the importance of women’s empowerment in driving economic growth and development.

As the world continues to grapple with the challenges of gender inequality, events like the Global ELOY Conference and Awards serve as a reminder of the power of women’s empowerment to drive positive change. The 16th Global ELOY Conference and Awards has shown that with determination, resilience, and hard work, women can overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness.
