Seyi Amao Wins Social Impact Award at Global Entrepreneurship Festival

…A Homecoming Celebration in Ondo State

Seyi Amao, a distinguished brand professional and advocate for women’s reproductive health, has been honored with the prestigious Social Impact Award at the Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF 2024), recognized as the largest entrepreneur event of the year. This accolade not only underscores her remarkable contributions to society but also marks a poignant homecoming for Seyi, who returns to Ondo State, affectionately known as the Sunshine State—an honor bestowed by her late father, Rear Admiral Sunday Abiodun Olukoya, during his tenure as military governor of Old Ondo State.

With over fourteen years of extensive experience across three continents, Seyi Amao has established herself as a formidable force in brand development, communication, and strategic implementation. Currently serving as the Head of Brand, Marketing, and Communications at a leading technology firm, Seyi harnesses her expertise to empower women and advocate for critical health issues, particularly through her initiative, PCOS Conquerors. This initiative has become a beacon of hope for women battling polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), fostering collaboration and raising awareness while providing a supportive community that encourages women on their health journeys.

Seyi’s dedication to this cause gained further recognition when she and her community were featured in the documentary “Where the Heck is My Period,” produced by renowned filmmaker Stephanie Coker Aderinokun. The documentary, which premiered at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) in 2022, is now available globally on Amazon Prime Video, amplifying the voices and stories of women facing reproductive health challenges.

Her impressive body of work has not gone unnoticed; in 2022, Seyi was honored as one of the 100 Women of Impact by Richer Woman and Vanguard Allure, alongside being recognized as one of the top 35 under 35 marketing professionals in Nigeria by BrandCom. Known for her captivating speaking abilities, Seyi has graced global platforms, most notably delivering an inspiring speech at the World Trade Center in Grenoble, France, in 2014.

In addition to her professional achievements, Seyi Amao is a published author, having released her first novel, *Bolatito*, which was recognized as one of the CBC Top 20 Nigerian Books in 2021. Her literary work reflects her commitment to showcasing the rich narratives of Nigeria, further establishing her as not only a leading brand enabler but also a proud ambassador for her country.

I am incredibly honored to receive the Social Impact Award at the Global Entrepreneurship Festival,” Seyi expressed. “This recognition is a testament to the power of community and the importance of advocating for women’s health. I dedicate this award to all the women who have bravely shared their stories and are on their journeys to better health.”

Seyi Amao’s unwavering dedication to making a positive impact in her community and beyond serves as an inspiration to many. As she continues to lead by example, her work exemplifies how entrepreneurship and advocacy can intertwine to create meaningful change.
