Fashion and Garment Industry, Catalyst for Multibillion Dollars Investment, Says PDP Chieftain

The Special Adviser to Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Inter-governmental Affairs, Hon. Olubi Adejobi, yesterday emphasised that the fashion and garment industry in the country, if properly harnessed, would serve as a catalyst for a multi-billion dollars investment in the country.
He also made it clear that talents have been discovered and unveiled at the Osogbo Fashion and Garment Industry Show, just as Operators in the uniformed garments were advised to harness local fabrics for the development of the industry.
Adejobi, who is the creator and organiser of a fashion pageant, further disclosed that these talents that are yet to be harnessed in the fashion industry in Osun State are talented young people brought together from communities to showcase their design ideas, innovations and potential to
markets
Speaking at the Osogbo fashion and garment week, 2024, held at Aurora Events Centre, Hon. Olubi said the uniformed garments fusion style for Osogbo traditional fabrics and others is the idea behind the event, based on community self-help to bring young and talented youths to the limelight in the fashion industry.
He emphasized that the fashion industry, which is a multibillion dollar investment should be properly harnessed together by all through wider opportunities and competitions as well as exposure and research for global recognition.
The politician stressed the importance of operators in the uniformed garments usage industry in the country, to pick from the various designs of the designers by adopting the showcased unique brands, saying that the local fabric inspired beach wears are also part of what was showcased, alongside award presentations.
The Fashion and Garment week creator also explained that the programme showcased a spotlight on the immense talent within Osogbo’s thriving fashion ecosystem, which include skills of designers, garment makers, makeup artistes, hair stylists, models and other industry professionals.
He stated that the programme was not sponsored by the government, but rather the organisation is supporting the initiative of the government by building the youths in the entertainment industry in order to boost the economy of the state.
