Ebuka, Gbemi, Others Sighted at Mai Atafo SS ‘25 Collection  

Top celebrities like Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, IK Osakioduwa, and Dan Atteh recently gathered in Ikoyi for the unveiling of Mai Atafo’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection themed Synonymously Luxe. Departing from the traditional runway format, Atafo, the brand’s creative director, treated his guests to a multi-sensory fashion experience. In carefully curated rooms, he showcased designs that appealed to each of the five senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.

For example, in one room, he displayed elegant pieces that embodied the sophistication of The Macallan, the renowned Scotch whisky brand. In another, he played with the sense of smell, collaborating with luxury perfume house Clive Christian to present stylish and intriguing designs. As guests moved from one room to the other, they enjoyed curated sounds from Bang & Olufsen.

These are just a few of the notable brands collaborating on the collection.

The collection featured formal attire, with Atafo making a bold statement on style and professionalism by introducing long skirts and gowns for the corporate woman. His signature suits were reimagined with creative twists, including double pockets instead of the traditional single, and the option to pair a suit with tailored shorts, an alternative to trousers.

The star-studded guest list also drew attention, with some attendees stealing the spotlight. Known for his bold fashion choices, Obi-Uchendu dazzled in a well-tailored champagne gold aso-oke blazer, paired effortlessly with flowing navy blue pants. He completed the look with a chic black Panama hat and trendy shades.

Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi turned heads in a sleeveless lilac gown that beautifully complemented her radiant brown skin.

Again, Mai Atafo’s fashion show displayed his boundless creativity and evolving innovation as he continued to push the boundaries of design and presentation with each collection.
