Dangote Business School Set to Revolutionize Financial Education in Africa with Bloomberg Education Partnership

Dangote Business School (DBS), Bayero University Kano, a leading institution of business and management education in Africa has indicated its plan to partner with Bloomberg Education, a global leader in financial education, to establish a state-of-the-art Financial Markets Lab, under the Financial Education Initiative set to be launched in Abuja on the 18th of December 2024.
This was made known today in Abuja by Dr. Noel Akpata, National Coordinator of the Financial Education Initiative which is birthing this partnership.
“This groundbreaking partnership aims to bridge the gap in financial education and research in Africa, providing students, academics, and professionals with hands-on experience in financial markets analysis, portfolio management, and risk analysis using Bloomberg’s cutting-edge terminals and data analytics tools” Akpata says.
The Financial Markets Lab, which will be equipped with Bloomberg terminals, will provide users with real-time access to global financial markets data, news, and analytics. This will enable them to develop practical skills in financial analysis, investment research, and portfolio management, preparing them for careers in finance, banking, and investment.
“We are excited about this partnership with the Financial Education Initiative and Bloomberg Education, which will enable us to provide our students and the wider financial community with world-class financial education and research tools,” said Professor Talatu Muhammad Barwa, Dean of Dangote Business School.

The partnership is expected to have a profound impact on financial education and research in Africa, providing a platform for students, academics, and professionals to develop practical skills in financial markets analysis and portfolio management.
The concept launch of this initiative will be Chaired by Nigeria’s former Minister of National Planning and current Chairman Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), Dr. Shamsudeen Usman.
