Edo SUBEB Boss Gifts UNIBEN’s Best Graduating Student N1m

The Chairman, Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Paddy Iyamu, has celebrated the achievements of the Akoko Edo born, Mr. James Ojo Alleh, the best graduating student of the University of Benin, when he hosted the scholar in his office.

Allen achieved an outstanding CGPA of 4.98/5.0, in Petroleum Engineering making him the highest scorer since the establishment of the university 1970.

During the meeting, Allen shared his challenges in funding his education, which initially made him to teach before securing the Bedrock Scholarship in 2022. He stated that the scholarship and mentorship programme were instrumental to his academic success. 

In his remarks, Iyamu expressed immense pride in Allen’s accomplishments, saying, “this is what we strive for – enabling young leaders to realise their potential proving that anyone from humble beginnings can achieve greatness.”

To further celebrate his success, Iyamu gave Allen N1 million, acknowledging his hard work and potential, in addition to the star prize he won from the University of Benin.
