Gunju Releases New Album ‘Through Thick and Thin’

Prince Oluwaseyi Paul Osaro Olagunju, known artistically as Gunju, has unveiled his latest album, ‘Through Thick and Thin’. This deeply personal and evocative collection of music chronicles a remarkable seven-year journey of isolation, healing and creative rebirth.

Born into the royal Anilelerin-Olagunju family of Offa, Kwara State, Nigeria, Olagunju’s life has been a dynamic fusion of cultural experiences, artistic expression and academic pursuit. 

His latest work stands as a testament to his

resilience and a homage to the transformative power of music.

‘Through Thick and Thin’ features the rich, organic sounds of a 13-piece band,

delivering an acoustic experience steeped in the rhythmic traditions of southern

Nigeria, while embracing the global appeal of House and World Music. 

Each track resonates with the influences of legendary icons like Fela Kuti, James Brown, Isaac Hayes, and the innovative dynamism of Barbara Tucker.
